Job summary

First Bus London is seeking an organised, hands-on Assistant Engineering Manager to keep our fleet safe, compliant and ready for service at Wandsworth Garage. You’ll support daily operations, lead and develop the team and ensure our vehicles, workshop and safety standards are consistently high.

In this role you will mentor staff, manage budgets and deliver cost efficiencies while maintaining high engineering quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Manager, Supervisor, or Working Charge Hand in a transport engineering function (ideally buses).
• Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach and manage performance.
• Excellent engineering knowledge with consistently high work standards.
• Competent IT user – especially Excel and MS Outlook.
• Experience managing budgets, reporting on variances, and delivering cost efficiencies.
• Relevant Health & Safety Management qualification.

Responsibilities
