Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated Secondary Maths Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to a learner in Halton. The role focuses on making maths engaging and tailored to the learner's starting point and targets.

You will deliver tailored KS3/GCSE support, identify gaps, and build confidence through structured sessions with regular progress checks. Hours are flexible (5–15 per week) starting September 2026, ongoing.

Qualifications

• Strong maths subject knowledge.
• Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged learners.
• GCSE Maths teaching experience desirable.
• Ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Patient, encouraging and flexible approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Two professional child-related references.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 Maths tuition
• Support KS3 and/or GCSE-level learning
