Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident GCSE Maths Tutor to support a young learner in St Helens with personalised tuition. The role involves delivering high-quality 1:1 maths sessions, identifying gaps, and tailoring lessons to the learner's pace.

Ideal candidates will have experience teaching GCSE Maths, a patient and adaptable approach, and the right to work in the UK. DBS check and references are preferred. Start date September 2026, 5–15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching GCSE Maths or GCSE tutoring.
• QTS/PGCE or relevant teaching experience preferred.
• Enhanced DBS registered or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Two professional child-related references.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality 1:1 GCSE Maths tuition
• Identify areas where the learner requires additional support
• Develop structured and engaging lessons
• Help improve confidence, numeracy skills and subject knowledge
• Adapt sessions according to the learner's progress
• Track and provide feedback on attainment
