Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking an Engagement Duty Worker in Coventry to support individuals with substance misuse through psychosocial interventions in one-to-one and group settings. The role is full-time (37.5h/week) and permanent, based in Coventry, with potential home visits and occasional late shifts.

You will engage clients, perform triage, coordinate assessments with nursing staff, liaise with partner agencies, and contribute to referral pathways to treatment.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of substance misuse and experience in a similar field.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong IT proficiency.
• The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise competing demands.
• A willingness to conduct home visits where needed, making a valid driver’s license an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Engage with individuals experiencing substance misuse challenges, offering advice, support, and recovery-focused interventions.
• Conduct triage and personalised assessments to identify the best pathways for structured treatment.
• Conduct substance screening and blood born virus testing alongside completing AUDIT and SADQ screening tools.
• Coordinate clinical assessments with the nursing team as needed.
• Liaise with partner agencies to ensure seamless service user engagement.
• Deliver robust harm-reduction advice and brief interventions during the triage and personalised assessment process.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the referral into treatment pathway
• Monitor and maintain the referrals coming into treatment to ensure our clients are able to access appropriate treatment in a timely manner.
• Proactively manage any safeguarding concerns that arise during the triage process. Including the completion of ongoing referrals.
