Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking an Energy Technician on a 12-month fixed-term contract to optimise energy use across our sites. You will monitor consumption, drive savings and support energy reviews with cross‑team collaboration.

Applicants should have experience in clean water or wastewater pumping, a record of energy improvements, and the ability to analyse and present performance data. Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, SAP, eSCADA and PowerPoint is required, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in clean water or wastewater pumping, a track record of delivering improvement actions, and the ability to analyse and present performance information.
• Strong numerical and problem solving skills with the ability to influence others.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and monitor energy consumption data, focusing on larger operational sites, collaborating with site staff to identify and address concerns, implementing operational and capital solutions.
• Report on energy performance regularly, attending energy reviews and proactive site visits.
• Influence capital and maintenance plans with energy insights and implement Site Energy Management Plans.
• Support Customer Operations teams in using our energy flexibly to take advantage of changing tariff or grid balancing schemes.
