Job summary

W Talent partners with a well-established waste management and energy recovery organisation. The Shift Team Leader will supervise and develop the operations team, ensuring adherence to health, safety and environmental standards while driving performance across ERF sites.

You will conduct objective investigations into incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. The role requires effective communication with management, engineers, and visitors, plus inductions for visitors

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory or management experience.
• Engineering qualification, ONC/HNC or equivalent.
• Health and safety qualification, IOSH or NEBOSH.
• Leadership qualification desirable, though not essential.
• Strong knowledge of power industry, naval, or process systems (HP steam, boilers, electrical generation).
• Clear and engaging team briefings.
• Experience with Safe Systems of Work and related safety documents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor systems to maximise operational performance.
• Conduct investigations into accidents and incidents, identify root causes and implement preventive actions.
• Promote safety culture and ensure inductions for visitors and contractors.
• Collaborate with site management and engineering teams for effective communication.
