Job summary

Nuveen Investments is seeking a technically strong Energy Market Data Analytics specialist to join the team. The role sits at the intersection of data engineering, quantitative modelling, and power trading to inform short-term decisions across European and US markets.

You will build and maintain analytical infrastructure, own the models, and collaborate with hedging, portfolio management, and investment teams to translate insights into actionable strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data analytics and modelling; JavaScript is a plus.
• Solid understanding of European power markets and fundamentals driving price behaviour.
• Experience with automation tools and building repeatable workflows.
• Practical experience applying LLM tools in an analytical context.
• Strong grounding in data modelling and architecture principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the team's data lake infrastructure and data pipelines.
• Own the market fundamental model, ETRM system, and quantitative models and evolve them as needed.
• Build short-term market analytics models to support trading decisions in European and US power markets.
• Provide quantitative support to portfolio management and hedging teams.
• Report outputs to leadership and translate analysis into clear insights for investment decisions.
• Collaborate with Data team on the Clean Haven data product development and data integrity.
