Job summary

VIQU Energy is seeking a highly analytical Gross Margin Manager to join the Finance team in a hybrid Birmingham role. You will lead month-end gross margin reporting, validate volumes, and analyse margins against pricing assumptions to identify revenue leakage.

The role requires full accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA), strong Excel skills, and proven experience improving reporting processes. You will collaborate with Commercial, Operations, Sales and IT to drive improvements in a changing

Qualifications

Strong gross margin experience in a similar role.
Experience within the UK energy supply industry.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong Excel capability.
Proven experience improving processes, controls and reporting.

Responsibilities

Lead month-end gross margin reporting, ensuring accurate matching of industry costs and revenues.
Calculate and review unbilled revenue, including underlying assumptions.
Validate customer billed volumes against settled volumes and investigate discrepancies.
Analyse achieved margins against pricing assumptions and identify potential revenue leakage.
Review and improve existing gross margin reporting processes.
Work closely with third-party system providers to implement reporting and process improvements.
Partner with Commercial, Operations, Sales and IT teams to ensure processes and systems impacting gross margin are effective.
Support the development of reporting and analysis for emerging energy transition products, including batteries, solar and dispatchable load.
