Job summary

OCU Group in Scotland is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial & Estimating team. You will manage commercial aspects of power infrastructure projects, from tender handover through to final account, working with substation and BESS schemes across Scotland.

Responsibilities include budgeting, cost reporting, payments, and contract administration, while building strong relationships with clients and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor in infrastructure, power, utilities or civil sectors.
• Experience managing project costs, valuations, payments and subcontractor accounts.
• Strong contract administration and commercial management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within project teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and contractual aspects from inception to final account.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow.
• Support payment applications, valuations, invoicing, and cash collection.
• Administer contracts, subcontracts, variations, and change control.
• Procure subcontractors and suppliers; tender evaluation and negotiation.
• Monitor costs and identify opportunities to improve margins.
• Assist in final accounts preparation and agreement.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Build relationships with operations, clients, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, procedures, and governance.
