Taylor Hopkinson Limited is seeking a Plant Attendant / Plant Operator for an Energy from Waste facility in Slough. The role supports safe, efficient operation, helping maintain performance, availability and reliability while ensuring compliance with HSE and environmental requirements.

The position offers a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for extension or permanent consideration, working Mon-Fri with occasional training opportunities and a competitive benefits package including

Qualifications

• Experience in Energy from Waste, power generation or similar heavy industrial environments.
• Experience in shift-based, continuous process plants.
• Understanding of combustion, boilers, steam systems or flue gas treatment advantageous.
• Experience using DCS/control systems and monitoring performance.
• First-line maintenance and fault-finding capability.
• Good HSE knowledge and environmental compliance.
• NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.
• IOSH or related HSE training desirable.
• Willingness to undertake additional plant training.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant systems including combustion, boiler and flue gas treatment equipment.
• Monitor plant conditions including temperatures, pressures, emissions and performance.
• Carry out routine plant inspections, walk-downs and operational logging.
• Identify and report plant defects, abnormal conditions and equipment issues.
• Carry out first-line maintenance and basic fault finding.
• Respond appropriately to plant alarms, process deviations and operational issues.
• Support planned maintenance, shutdowns and plant outages.
• Ensure operations remain compliant with HSE procedures and Environmental Permit conditions.
• Maintain accurate operational records and communicate plant issues effectively with the wider O&M team.
