Job summary

Astute People is seeking an Operations Technician to support an Energy from Waste plant in Worcestershire. You will operate the facility safely, monitor central control room systems, perform routine checks and logs, and report issues to keep the plant running smoothly.

The role requires rotating shifts, good IT literacy, and a proactive communicator who can work well in a team and follow safety procedures. Training and progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working shifts within a continuous process or industrial environment.
• Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Good computer literacy with the ability to operate computer-based control and monitoring systems.
• Happy to work a rotating shift pattern including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Experience in power generation, Energy from Waste, defence or similar operational environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate the Energy from Waste facility in line with procedures.
• Monitor and control plant operations from central control using computer-based systems.
• Carry out routine inspections, checks and testing to ensure equipment operates correctly.
• Record, analyse and report operational data during the shift.
• Raise work requests and report defects or maintenance needs when identified.
• Support emergency response procedures and follow instructions during incidents.
