Job summary

FCC Environment is hiring a Plant Operator at the Severnwaste Services EfW facility in Worcestershire. You will operate the Energy from Waste plant safely and efficiently, monitor performance and carry out inspections as part of the operational team.

Working rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends and public holidays, you report to the Shift Team Leader. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits, on-the-job training, progression opportunities, and a supportive working

Qualifications

• Experience working shifts within a continuous process industry.
• Knowledge of Energy from Waste processes and safe working practices.
• Computer literacy and the ability to work with operational systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Energy from Waste facility safely and efficiently.
• Monitor and control plant operations from a computer-based central control room.
• Conduct routine plant inspections, tests, and operational checks.
• Monitor CCTV and site security systems.
• Record, analyse, and report operational data.
• Identify plant issues and raise work requests when required.
• Support emergency response procedures and follow operational instructions.
• Monitor stock levels of consumables and residues to ensure operational continuity.
• Complete detailed shift handovers and maintain accurate records.
