Job summary

Sopra Steria is recruiting an experienced Endpoint Engineer for a government-focused role based in Gloucestershire. You will design, implement and support secure Microsoft endpoint and server infrastructure within accredited environments, providing expert 3rd line incident resolution and automation to improve reliability.

The role demands security awareness and a track record in controlled IT environments, with Enhanced Developed Vetting eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience as Endpoint/Infrastructure Engineer or similar operational role.
• Hands-on with Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019+ in enterprise
• Experience with Microsoft System Center suite in enterprise
• Experience supporting endpoint protection or anti‑malware solutions
• PowerShell scripting with automation
• Experience in security-conscious IT environments

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support secure Microsoft endpoint and server infrastructure within approved architectures and assurance processes.
• Provide third line support for complex incidents, including fault diagnosis and secure remediation.
• Support both BAU services and project-based delivery aligned to client requirements.
• Administer and support Windows 11 estates and Windows Server 2019 and later.
• Use Microsoft System Center tools including Configuration Manager, Operations Manager and SCORCH.
• Use PowerShell and automation to deliver compliant administration and improve service reliability
