Job summary

Searchability is seeking an eDV Systems Engineer in Cheltenham to design, implement and support secure IT systems across on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments. The role requires delivering highly available, resilient infrastructure while collaborating with engineering and delivery teams to solve complex technical issues.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and firewalls.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V or KVM.
• Experience with automation/configuration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet or Chef.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Splunk or Nagios.
• eDV clearance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing and supporting enterprise IT systems and infrastructure.
• Managing systems across on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments.
• Monitoring performance and identifying opportunities for optimisation.
• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and conducting root cause analysis.
• Implementing automation for provisioning, configuration and operational processes.
• Managing patching, updates, backups and disaster recovery.
• Applying security best practices including system hardening, access controls and vulnerability management.
• Supporting integration between systems, networks and applications.
• Producing technical designs, documentation and operational procedures.
• Providing 2nd/3rd line technical support.
• Working with multidisciplinary teams on projects and service enhancements.
