Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Healthcare support role for the Endoscopy Unit at New Victoria Hospital ACH in Glasgow. This permanent position is 25.9 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed to meet service needs.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality patient care before, during and after procedures. The role involves assisting in endoscopic procedures, maintaining clinical areas, handling specimens, and ensuring infection control

Responsibilities

• Support registered nursing staff by carrying out direct and indirect patient care duties within the Endoscopy Unit.
• Provide specialist care to patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment and support admissions and discharges.
• Undertake patient observations and ensure specimens are labelled and dispatched.
• Maintain stock and equipment levels and contribute to high standards of care.
• Assist during endoscopic procedures and support recovery areas.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures and protect patient confidentiality.
• Participate in staff induction, training and ongoing professional development.
