Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is seeking a Staff Nurse to join the Endoscopy team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. It is a part-time, permanent position based on site with a 24-hour week, Monday to Friday, with pro rata salary for part-time hours. You must hold an active NMC pin to be considered.

The role emphasises safe, person-centred care in a busy endoscopy/day surgery setting, leadership when required, and ongoing professional development within NHSGGC’s supportive framework.

Qualifications

• Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Ability to deliver high-quality person-centred care in a busy clinical environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families and colleagues.
• Understand professional, legal and ethical responsibilities in nursing practice.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and lead when required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate person-centred care for endoscopic patients.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care while maintaining dignity and involvement.
• Admit, monitor and discharge patients undergoing endoscopic interventions in Day Surgery.
• Provide physical, technical and emotional support throughout the care journey.
• Lead and supervise staff and support effective team working and service delivery.
• Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement and practice development.
