Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting for an Endoscopy nursing role at New Victoria Hospital ACH. You will support registered nurses, provide patient care before, during and after procedures, maintain infection control, and assist in endoscopic procedures.

The post is permanent, part-time (25.9 hours per week) with shifts to meet service needs, and offers NHS benefits including annual leave, pension, development opportunities and staff support.

• Knowledge of Endoscopy, General Surgery, and Gastroenterology.
• Completion of a relevant training and/or competency programme.
• Experience working within an endoscopy, surgical, or gastroenterology setting.
• Understanding of patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities

• As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will support registered nursing staff by carrying out a range of direct and indirect patient care duties within the Endoscopy Unit.
• You will provide specialist care to patients before, during, and after procedures, assist in maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment, support patient admissions and discharges.
• Undertake patient observations, ensure specimens are accurately labelled and dispatched, maintain stock and equipment levels.
• Contribute to the delivery of high standards of care and assist during endoscopic procedures, recovery areas, and infection prevention controls.
