Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking an Endoscopy Decontamination Unit (EDU) Technician at Glasgow Royal Infirmary to decontaminate, disinfect, assemble, store and distribute reusable endoscopes across clinical areas.

The role requires working to safety and quality standards in a busy hospital environment. On‑the‑job induction and mandatory training are provided, with a permanent, full‑time pattern Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience in working in an EDU or Sterile Services Unit (SSU).
• Ability to work to strict safety and quality standards.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Basic IT knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination and disinfection of reusable flexible endoscopes
• Assembly, storage, and distribution of scopes to clinical areas
• Working to strict quality and safety standards in a fast‑paced environment
• Ensuring continuity of patient care through timely processing
• Being multi‑skilled across all areas of EDU operations
