Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a permanent Endoscopy Decontamination Unit technician at New Victoria Hospital. The role involves multi-skilled work across decontamination operations, maintaining high-quality service, and ensuring patient safety. Previous decontamination experience is essential.

The role is full-time (36 hours) with a 4-day pattern and overtime on alternating Saturdays. NHSGGC emphasizes development opportunities and comprehensive employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of decontamination processes and use of endoscopy equipment.
• Ability to learn and adapt to strict quality procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to undertake training and develop proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Accurate inspection and cleaning of AERs and flexible scopes for surgical use.
• Load, operate washers/disinfectors, drying cabinets and EDU equipment safely.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and HTM2030 standards.
• Maintain tracking and documentation for traceability of equipment to patients.
• Carry out daily tests and duties as defined in HTM2030.
