Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Support Worker to provide patient-facing support in Endoscopy. You will work alongside nurses and endoscopists, assisting in procedures and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the endoscopy process.

The role involves transferring endoscopes to HDSU, supporting the recovery area, recording observations, and aiding in safe patient transfer. A Care Certificate or equivalent qualification is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of the NHS Care Certificate or relevant experience to vocational qualification level 3 or willing to complete the care certificate within the first 3 months of employment
• Knowledge of care and related procedures
• Experience with manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
• Experience of completing patient care records
• Experience and involvement of an improvement project/s
• Experience of holding an area of responsibility relating to training/audit

Responsibilities

• Transferring endoscopes to HDSU
• Assisting the Registered Nurse in procedures once trained
• Supporting patients in the recovery area, making tea/coffee/toast
• Taking and recording the patients observations
• Helping to safely transfer patients
