Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Support Worker for the Endoscopy unit. The role involves assisting in specialised care, supporting RN supervision, and ensuring readiness of procedure rooms. Cross-site work across the three sites may be required.

The post requires NSW training compliance, Statutory/Mandatory training, and JETS workforce competencies. A Care Certificate or NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care is preferred, with NHS experience and Endoscopy

Qualifications

• 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent.
• Experience in Endoscopy.
• NHS experience.
• Maths & English Level 1 (GCSE) or overseas equivalent.
• Care Certificate or must complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment.
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care/Equivalent qualification or willing/required to complete if successful.

Responsibilities

• Accurately monitor, record and report variations in vital signs to the Registered Nurse.
• Support with admission and discharge processes in Endoscopy units and work across areas as needed.
• Perform blood glucose monitoring and report results to the Registered Nurse.
• Carry out urinalysis and pregnancy testing and report results.
• After training, competently remove peripheral cannula.
• Ensure procedure rooms are prepared for procedures in a timely manner.
• Assist with preparation for JAG and CQC visits.
• Support induction and training of new Endoscopy staff.
• Provide and receive routine information requiring tact and persuasive skills.
• Maintain clear written and oral communication within the multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure confidentiality is maintained.
• Report any relevant patient information promptly.
• Deliver health education relevant to Endoscopy and follow policies.
• Contribute to patient feedback initiatives in the department.
• Complete a training framework related to Endoscopy.
