Job summary

Manpower UK on behalf of a leading engineering and manufacturing client in Blaenavon is seeking a permanent Project Engineer with responsibility to manage projects from enquiry through to delivery. The role pays up to £45,000 per annum and requires hands-on involvement with design support, schedules, and documentation.

You will liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure high-quality, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Previous experience in a Project Engineer or similar role.
• Experience within a manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and machining processes.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and contract documentation.
• Experience using 2D CAD software.
• Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of project control, procurement, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering projects from contract award through to final delivery.
• Review customer enquiries, specifications, datasheets, and technical requirements.
• Prepare technically accurate and commercially viable quotations.
• Liaise with the design team to ensure accurate and compliant drawings are produced.
• Oversee drawing control, revisions, and engineering documentation.
• Support the development and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Coordinate material procurement activities to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Manage supplier communications and monitor lead times.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure technical requirements are understood and achieved.
• Support fabrication and manufacturing activities to ensure quality and compliance standards are maintained.
• Monitor project costs, schedules, and delivery milestones.
• Contribute to product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all certification and compliance documentation is completed accurately.
