Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting an Enablement Support Worker to visit people in their homes and communities, providing personalised support based on individual goals. The role focuses on empowering independence through encouragement, practical help and goal-oriented interventions.

You will work across the Rotherham borough, with a 35-hour week in a permanent role. Training, induction and ongoing support are provided, plus access to a RMBC vehicle on duty and uniform.

At Rotherham Enablement Service, we work alongside people within our communities who may have experienced illness, injury, a hospital stay, or significant changes in their circumstances. Our aim is to support individuals to rebuild their confidence, learn or relearn everyday skills, and maximise their independence.

Unlike traditional home care services, our focus is on empowering people to do things for themselves rather than doing things for them. Through encouragement, practical support, and goal-focused interventions, we help people take positive steps towards living independently.

About the Role

Working Pattern

The Enablement Service operates 7.00am to 10.00pm, 365 days a year, so flexibility is required to work a range of shifts on a consistent rota pattern.

The role involves travelling across the Rotherham borough. While access to a car is not essential, successful applicants must be able to travel efficiently throughout the borough as required.
