Job summary

Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield is seeking an Employability Coach (term time only) to help people with learning disabilities move towards meaningful, paid employment within their communities. You will work with employers, Job Centres and families to identify opportunities and guide participants from skill development to sustained employment.

The role focuses on tailored coaching, on‑the‑job training, and gradual reduction of support while promoting independence and confidence.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 5 or above are required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to plan, organise and manage a varied workload.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored, person-centred employability support including job coaching, job search, and interview preparation.
• Deliver on‑the‑job training using structured teaching approaches.
• Support individuals during work trials and placements; promote independence.
• Identify reasonable adjustments and assistive technology to support success.
• Complete accurate records and reports per organisational requirements.
