Job summary

Strategy Education Ltd is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant for a permanent role in Watford. You will support students to access lessons, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and help differentiate learning to meet individual needs.

This role focuses on developing literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills while monitoring wellbeing and progress. The successful candidate will work with teachers and the SENCO, attend meetings and INSET sessions, and play a key part in promoting

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
• GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths, or relevant experience.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and use initiative.
• A patient, flexible and supportive approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good IT skills.
• A genuine commitment to supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Support students to access lessons and complete classroom tasks.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Help differentiate learning to meet individual needs.
• Support the development of literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills.
• Monitor students' attention, concentration, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Support students with their individual education plans.
• Encourage positive interaction with peers and participation in group activities.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
• Act as a key worker and point of contact for allocated students.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals to monitor progress.
• Attend relevant meetings, training and INSET sessions.
