Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a caring, resilient Behaviour-Focused Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Watford from September. You will support pupils with behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and learning, working with SENCO and pastoral staff to implement positive strategies.

The role involves one-to-one and small-group support, building trust with pupils, and helping them develop emotional regulation and social skills within a structured school environment.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working with children in a primary school or educational setting.
• Calm, patient, consistent, and confident when managing challenging situations.
• Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, and pastoral support.
• Work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to implement behaviour support strategies.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and provide encouragement, guidance, and reassurance.
• Support pupils to develop emotional regulation, resilience, independence, and positive social skills.
• Monitor pupils' behaviour and progress, sharing observations with teachers and appropriate staff.
