Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant in Middlesbrough for a full-time, long-term supply role. You will work with a dedicated team to support students aged 14-19 with diverse needs across a 14-19 pathway, delivering personalised learning aligned with EHCP outcomes and life-skills development.

The role offers immediate start, ongoing support from a dedicated recruitment consultant, and access to CPD training through our partner.

Qualifications

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
Passionate about helping young people prepare for adulthood.
Ability to build trusting relationships with students.
Patient, resilient, and adaptable in approach.
Experience in education, care, youth work or similar settings.

Responsibilities

Support students aged 14–19 with a range of additional needs.
Help learners work towards individual EHCP targets.
Encourage independence, communication and life skills.
Assist with vocational, practical and community-based learning activities.
Build positive relationships that promote confidence, wellbeing and achievement.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families to support student progress.
