Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant in Middlesbrough for a full-time, long-term supply role. You will work with a dedicated team to support students aged 14-19 with diverse needs across a 14-19 pathway, delivering personalised learning aligned with EHCP outcomes and life-skills development.

The role offers immediate start, ongoing support from a dedicated recruitment consultant, and access to CPD training through our partner.

Qualifications

Middlesbrough Full-Time Long-Term Supply 95- 110 per day

We are working in partnership with an exceptional all-through community special school in Middlesbrough that is recognised for its inclusive ethos, outstanding staff support, and commitment to helping every young person achieve their potential. As part of a dynamic and expanding multi-academy trust across Teesside, the school offers a welcoming, collaborative environment where staff are valued, developed, and empowered to make a lasting impact on students' lives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join the school's 14-19 pathway, supporting young people as they develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed for life beyond education.

The Role

Working alongside experienced teaching and support staff, you will help deliver purposeful, personalised learning that is shaped by each student's EHCP outcomes and preparation-for-adulthood goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting students aged 14-19 with a range of additional needs.
• Helping learners work towards individual EHCP targets.
• Encouraging independence, communication, and life skills.
• Assisting with vocational, practical, and community-based learning activities.
• Building positive relationships that promote confidence, wellbeing, and achievement.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress.

The Ideal Candidate
