Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in primary settings across Wigan and Warrington.

You will work 1:1 or small groups, assist learning activities tailored to individual needs, and help pupils develop independence under the guidance of teachers and SENCOs.

The role starts September/October 2026, is full-time, and requires a caring, patient, adaptable approach and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND (school or care background).
• Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to learners.
• Genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting potential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis.
• Assisting with learning activities tailored to individual needs.
• Encouraging independence and confidence in learners.
• Working closely with teachers and SENCOs.
