Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in the classroom and, when required, in small groups. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other professionals to enable learners to access the curriculum.

Experience with SEND is advantageous; Level 2/3 TA qualifications are beneficial. Training in safeguarding and intervention strategies may be provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people with SEND is advantageous.
• Level 2/3 TA qualification is beneficial, though relevant experience and attitude may be considered.
• Training may be provided in communication strategies, behaviour support, safeguarding and other interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Assist pupils to access the curriculum by adapting activities and resources.
• Support pupils with communication, cognition, learning, social and emotional needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships.
• Monitor and record pupils’ progress and share with teachers.
