Job summary

Bromley College is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to help learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) reach their potential. You will work alongside teaching staff to tailor support, promote independence and wellbeing, and enable participation in college life.

Qualifications

• Passionate about supporting learners with SEND in education settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with learners, staff and families.
• Proactive and flexible approach to work.
• Good IT skills and confidence using technology in learning.
• Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive learning practices.
• Willingness to achieve Level 2 Maths and English and a First Aid qualification.

Responsibilities

• Supporting learners within classroom and practical learning environments.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and self-advocacy skills.
• Assisting with the implementation of individual support plans and EHCP outcomes.
• Providing personal care, mobility and wellbeing support where required.
• Supporting learners to access specialist equipment and assistive technologies.
• Working closely with curriculum staff, support managers and external agencies.
• Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive learning practices.
• Acting as a First Aider or undertaking First Aid training if required.
