Job summary

Taylor Road Primary School in Leicester is seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. The role supports SEND pupils and delivers learning interventions across the primary phase, working 32.5 hours per week from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, term time plus 5 INSET days.

The full-time salary is Band 3 Pt 4-5 (£25,583-£25,989) with pro rata options available. We are a diverse, inclusive school with a strong ethos and Ofsted rating of Good.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience in supporting SEND and teaching and learning within a primary school setting.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Engage pupils in learning and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Act as a role model, demonstrating the STARFISH Values to inspire and motivate our pupils.
• Collaborate with teachers to share progress and outcomes, contributing to the overall assessment and evaluation process as well as target setting for individual pupils.
• Provide support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and English as an Additional Language, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the learning of all pupils, fostering a love for education and personal growth.
• Possess first aid qualification, ensuring the safety and well-being of our students (training can be given).
