Job summary

Taylor Road Primary School in Leicester is seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support SEND pupils and delivery of learning interventions across the primary phase, including 1:1 and small group work.

The role runs 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays during term time (39 weeks a year). The school offers a collaborative environment, STARFISH values, and opportunities for professional development for staff and pupils alike.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting SEND and teaching in a primary school.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to pupils with SEND and English as an Additional Language, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the learning of all pupils, fostering a love for education and personal growth.
  • Possess first aid qualification, ensuring safety and wellbeing of students (training can be given).

Level 2 Teaching Assistant LEVEL 2 TEACHING ASSISTANT x 32.5 hours per week TO TAKE UP POST as soon as possibleHours of work: 8.30 a.m. until 3.30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, with half an hour unpaid lunch during term time, plus 5 staff training days (INSET) which equates to 39 weeks a yearScale and salary: Band 3 Pt 5-6 £25,583 - £25,989 full-time salary. The actual (pro rata) salary is £19,394 - £19,702

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting SEND pupils and teaching and learning interventions across the whole of the primary phase, ensuring every child receives the best education possible, whether this is in groups or on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in supporting SEND and teaching and learning within a primary school setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
