Job summary

St Anne’s Church Academy in Weston-Super-Mare is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our SEND team. You will support pupils in small groups and individual sessions, delivering pre-planned lessons and assisting with resources and health-care needs.

The role focuses on inclusive education, safeguarding, and building strong relationships with students, staff and families. 22 hours per week during term time with INSET days; fixed-term until 31 August 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with individual needs, particularly SEN.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and adapt to changing needs.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom support for pupils, planned and supervised by teachers.
• Support colleagues with resource preparation, display and care and support of pupils including health care.
• Keep records of work to provide feedback and general support.
• Accurately record student records and liaise with colleagues, parents, carers and third parties when necessary.
