Job summary

Brooklands College in Weybridge is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the SEND department. The role is 22.2 hours per week, 37 weeks per year, providing 1:1 or small group support across multiple levels and helping students with reading, writing and maths.

Experience in a classroom setting is essential; an LSA qualification or willingness to undertake one is preferred. Strong IT, numeracy and communication skills are required to support inclusive learning and exam delivery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of supporting learners in a classroom environment.
• A relevant Learning Support Assistant qualification or willingness to undertake one.
• Good IT, numeracy, oral and written communication skills.
• Sound understanding of the purpose of Additional Learning Support.

Responsibilities

• Support learners in class 1:1 or small groups across levels from entry to L3.
• Use strategies to aid reading, writing and maths skills.
• Support students during their exams.
• Maintain careful records of all LSA support provided.
