Job summary

OneSchool Global York Campus is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students both academically and pastorally in a technology-enabled learning environment. The role involves working with teaching staff, SENDCo and the Learning Support team to assist with interventions and individualised plans.

You will help students overcome barriers to learning, promote wellbeing and independence, and contribute to a positive school culture.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Experience supporting students with SEND would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare or learning support would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to students across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENDCo.
• Support students with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning materials.
• Encourage student engagement, independence and confidence in their learning.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and support staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support the implementation of individual support plans and learning strategies.
• Assist with educational visits, enrichment activities and wider campus events where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external professionals to support student outcomes.
