Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking an experienced English & Maths Tutor to work with children and young people across Somerset. This in-person role focuses on personalised support in English and Maths to boost learning, confidence and engagement.

You will build positive relationships with learners, adapt teaching to individual needs, and collaborate with parents and professionals as required. DBS checks and safeguarding commitment are expected for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring English and Maths to children or young people.
• Understanding of English and Maths curricula.
• Experience with SEND/SEMH is desirable.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small-group tutoring in English and Maths.
• Plan engaging and appropriately challenging learning activities.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs and engagement levels.
• Support learners with reading, writing, comprehension, spelling and grammar.
• Support learners with numeracy and mathematical understanding.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Maintain safeguarding and professional communication with parents and professionals.
