Job summary

AKG UK in Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen seeks an Employment Specialist for the Connect to Work programme, guiding participants with disabilities or health-related barriers to sustainable paid work and building links with local employers.

You will manage a caseload, tailor support, and use local labour market knowledge to identify opportunities while ensuring quality and contractual compliance. Apply with readiness for interview.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local labour market areas and opportunities.
• Experience supporting people with multiple and complex needs, especially learning disabilities.
• Ability to meet targets while delivering quality services.

Responsibilities

• Meet personal performance targets and quality/compliance requirements.
• Develop caseload of referred participants.
• Build knowledge of learning disabilities to provide specialist support.
• Use assessment tools to understand barriers to employment.
• Deliver customer service and quality standards.
• Work with participants and employers to create tailored solutions.
• Co-produce SMART action plans with progress targets.
• Coordinate support with local specialist services.
• Utilise social prescribing to improve outcomes.
• Identify job opportunities via local labour market insights.
• Market to employers via digital channels.
• Pre-screen and assess recruitment needs.
• Co-produce in-work support plans with employers.
• Promote health & safety and signpost to relevant services.
• Maintain compliant digital records and work from hubs/communities.
