Job summary

Waythrough is seeking an Employment Specialist for the Connect to Work service covering the Tees Valley. You will provide one-to-one support to help disabled or disadvantaged people overcome barriers to employment and build meaningful, sustainable work.

You will work with participants to understand strengths and career goals, support job searching, CVs and interview prep, and foster relationships with local employers for inclusive recruitment.

Qualifications

• Experience helping disadvantaged or disabled people access the labour market.
• Experience networking and liaising with employers.
• Strong communication, listening, motivational and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
• Confidence using computer systems and maintaining accurate records.
• Solutions-focused approach with the ability to engage and motivate people.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored, one-to-one employment support, helping participants identify strengths, interests and career goals.
• Support individuals with job searching, CV preparation, interview techniques and career planning.
• Build relationships with local employers to identify both advertised and hidden opportunities.
• Match participants with suitable paid employment opportunities reflecting preferences and skills.
• Provide ongoing in-work support to help participants sustain employment, in collaboration with employers.
