Job summary

CRA Consulting invites applications for an Employment Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with around 3 years of PQE to join our claimant employment law team in Leeds, operating with a high degree of autonomy on a varied caseload.

You will advise and litigate in both advisory and contentious matters, collaborating with senior colleagues while delivering high-quality legal services to clients across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with approximately 3 years' PQE in employment law.
  • Solid experience handling a claimant-focused employment caseload.
  • Strong experience across contentious employment matters, including Employment Tribunal litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a claimant-focused employment law caseload with autonomy across advisory and contentious matters.
  • Handle settlement agreements, unfair dismissal, discrimination, and equal pay issues.
  • Draft and review pleadings, witness statements, settlement documents and other litigation material.

Job description

Role: Employment Solicitor
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Salary: £50,000 - £52,000
Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid

We are seeking a 3-year PQE Employment Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a highly regarded Employment Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer looking to further develop their career in claimant employment law within a supportive and well-established practice.
You will have the opportunity to manage your own varied caseload with a high degree of autonomy, working across both advisory and contentious matters. You will work closely with experienced colleagues while taking responsibility for delivering high-quality legal advice and achieving excellent outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a claimant-focused employment law caseload with a high degree of autonomy, including:

  • Settlement agreements
  • Unfair dismissal claims
  • Discrimination matters
  • Equal pay disputes
  • Contractual issues
  • Redundancy and TUPE advice
  • Employment Tribunal litigation
  • Provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice to clients from initial enquiry through to resolution
  • Conduct employment litigation, including managing Employment Tribunal claims and preparing cases for hearings
  • Draft and review key legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, settlement agreements and other litigation documentation
  • Develop and implement effective case strategies, exercising sound judgement and taking ownership of matters
  • Manage client expectations, provide regular updates and ensure a high standard of client care throughout
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, transport, engineering, healthcare, education, public sector and commercial businesses
  • Identify opportunities to develop client relationships and contribute to the growth of the Employment team
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support more junior members of the team where appropriate
  • Contribute to the continued success and development of the wider Employment Law practice
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with approximately 3 years' PQE in employment law
  • Solid experience handling a claimant-focused employment caseload
  • Strong experience across contentious employment matters, including Employment Tribunal litigation
  • Good working knowledge of employment law and confidence applying it to complex and varied client matters
  • Able to manage a caseload with a high degree of autonomy and prioritise competing demands effectively
  • Excellent drafting, advocacy and legal research skills
  • Strong communication and client care skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients
  • Commercially aware and able to provide clear, pragmatic and solutions-focused advice
  • Proactive, organised and confident in taking ownership of matters
  • A genuine interest in claimant employment law and a desire to contribute to the continued growth of a successful Employment team
