Job summary

Henderson Scott is seeking an Employment Solicitor (2–4 PQE) in Gerrards Cross. The role combines contentious and non-contentious work within a leading employment practice, with opportunities in business immigration and HR consultancy services.

You will manage an established caseload, draft contracts and policies, and support tribunal proceedings. The firm values client relationships and development of the practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with 2–4 years’ PQE in Employment Law.
• Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage an established caseload of employer and employee clients.
• Advise on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
• Draft and review employment contracts, staff handbooks, policies, and settlement agreements.
• Provide advice on disciplinary and grievance procedures, employment status issues, and workplace disputes.
• Support clients through Employment Tribunal proceedings, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, restrictive covenants, and TUPE matters.
• Advise on business immigration matters, including sponsor licences, worker visas, and right-to-work requirements.
• Prepare legal documentation and provide commercially focused employment law advice.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Identify opportunities for business development and cross-referrals across the wider firm.
• Keep abreast of employment law developments and contribute to the ongoing success of the team.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Employment Solicitor to join one of the region's leading Employment teams. This highly regarded practice advises a broad range of corporate and individual clients and has built an excellent reputation for delivering pragmatic, commercially focused employment law advice.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and supportive team, taking over an existing caseload of quality clients while helping to further develop the firm's employment law offering. The role provides exposure to a diverse mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, alongside opportunities to gain experience in business immigration and HR consultancy services.

The Role

About You

• Qualified Solicitor with approximately 2-4 years' PQE in Employment Law.


• Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.


• Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of employment law issues.


• Experience advising employers, with employee-side experience also advantageous.


• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.


• Commercially minded with a strong focus on client service.


• Organised, proactive, and capable of managing a busy caseload.


• Strong relationship-building skills with the confidence to work directly with clients and referrers.
