Job summary

Southampton-based leading national law firm seeks an Employment Solicitor with 3+ PQE. The role involves a balanced mix of contentious and non-contentious work, advising employers on contracts, policies and daily employment matters, and handling executive matters.

You will work with experienced partners, with hybrid working and clear progression opportunities. The ideal candidate will have 3+ PQE in employment law from a reputable UK practice, with strong autonomy to manage a private caseload

Responsibilities

• Handle a mixed workload of contentious and non-contentious employment work.

• Handle grievance and disciplinary matters and Employment Tribunal litigation.

Employment Solicitor (3+ PQE), Southampton

We are working closely with a leading national law firm who are looking to hire an Employment Solicitor with 3+ PQE for their Southampton office.

The firm's employment team is Legal 500 ranked in Hampshire, with the national practice led out of the Southampton office, and acts for domestic and global clients across a wide range of sectors.

The team is already busy, with the majority of work coming through internal referrals, so there is a strong and steady flow of quality work from day one. They are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and manage their own caseload, with the support of experienced partners and real scope for progression.

This role would particularly suit someone who values work life balance, with genuinely flexible hybrid working and realistic target hours.

The work will include:

• A roughly even split of contentious and non-contentious employment work
• Advising employers on contracts, policies and day to day employment matters
• Employment aspects of corporate transactions, including TUPE and redundancy
• Senior executive matters, including exits and disputes
• Grievance and disciplinary matters
• Unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing claims, including Employment Tribunal litigation
• Opportunity to be involved in sports sector employment work
• The ideal candidate will have 3+ PQE in employment law gained at a reputable UK practice, with solid experience across both contentious and non-contentious matters and the confidence to work with a good degree of autonomy.

Package

• Salary up to £70,000 (depending on experience) + benefits
• Hybrid working: 1 to 2 days in the office, the rest from home
