Job summary

JMC Legal Recruitment is partnering with a leading regional law firm in Dorchester to appoint a Senior Employment Solicitor (4+ PQE). You will manage a substantial caseload independently and help grow the employment offering.

The role covers contracts, HR advisory, disputes, tribunals, and corporate HR aspects. There is potential for partnership pathway, relocation support, and up to two days of home working each week, with a salary guide of £60,000–£80,000.

Qualifications

• 4+ years PQE in employment law
• Ability to manage a caseload independently
• Strong contract drafting and dispute resolution experience
• HR advisory and client care skills
• Supervision/mentoring experience desirable
• Clear progression and development mindset

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload independently across the full employment law spectrum
• Handle diverse work: contracts, policies, disputes, HR advisory, Tribunal representation
• Advise on complex HR matters: disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, restructuring
• Support employment aspects of corporate transactions: HR due diligence, TUPE compliance
• Deliver client training and build your profile
• Real scope to grow the employment offering and mentor junior lawyers
• Work from home up to 2 days per week after settling-in

A leading regional law firm is looking for an experienced Employment Solicitor ready to step up. Senior Associate, Associate, or Employment Partner seeking a fresh challenge, this role suits someone with ambition to grow the employment law offering and build a team.

You'll manage your own substantial caseload independently, work alongside another experienced employment lawyer, and have genuine scope to shape the practice's future. This isn't about processing volume. It's about building something meaningful with a transparent pathway to Partnership.

About You

• Employment Solicitor or Legal Executive with 4+ years PQE in employment law
• Proven ability to manage a caseload independently
• Strong background in contract drafting, dispute resolution, HR advisory
• Commercial awareness and excellent client care skills
• Supervision and mentoring experience (highly desirable)
• Seeking genuine progression and development

What's On Offer

• Salary is very much open to negotiation and will depend on level of experience, as a guide £60,000-£80,000, however there is certainly flexibility and package will be discussed prior to interview
