Scope of Role:

Reporting to the Head of HR for our Wholesale business area, you’ll be an experienced HR professional with a keen interest in employee relations to join our team as an Employee Relations Business Partner. You will ensure operational managers and leaders are supported end-to-end, delivering a high quality, and responsive employee relations experience.

You will act as an SME, providing guidance and pragmatic advice to the People Solutions function, creating consistency across the business areas in the management of Employee Relations cases.

The successful candidate will provide senior operational leadership and support to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, business-focused, and responsive employee relations service. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the Employee Relations approach by working with our COE’s to leverage data and management development to create a pro-active upskilling management culture.

The Employee Relations Business Partner will lead on the developing of core E.R upskilling for our People leaders and support the continued professional development of both the Wholesale and wider People Solutions function.

Objectives for Role:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Develop and implement employee relations strategies and initiatives that align with the organisation’s goals and objectives.
  • Act as an SME for the Employee Relations approach, ensuring that the Wholesale People Solutions team are fully supported and equipped to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Build strong business relationships with Team Members, HR Business Partners and COE’s across the organisation.
  • Drive change and improve the employee experience through the provision of high-quality employee relations support.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and keep up to date with changes in legislation.
  • Design and implement inclusive conflict resolution approaches and promote a learning culture for People Managers to upskill on Employee Relations management.
  • Provide training and coaching to managers on employee relations best practices and policies.
  • Analyse and report on employee relations trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Act as the SME for complex Employee Relations issues, escalating accordingly and by providing proactive guidance to ensure successful resolution.
  • Support Business Partners deliver successful business change, Re-org’s, TUPE’s, workforce alignment etc.
  • Provide Business Partner cover as and when required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Significant experience in employee relations, working at a senior level within HR.
  • Working across Matrix & COE partners to deliver business objectives.
  • Experience in Tribunal, Early Conciliation & TUPE’s.
  • Proven track record of leading and influencing change.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and its application in policy and practice.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in designing and implementing conflict resolution approaches and promoting a just culture.
