Job summary

Academics is hiring a Teaching Assistant for an SEN school in the Brockenhurst to Lymington/New Forest area. This is a full-time, temporary to permanent role starting ASAP and running 39 weeks per year.

You will support pupils aged 7–19 with Asperger's syndrome and other autistic needs in small groups and 1:1. The role requires a C/4 in English and Maths GCSE and previous SEN experience is preferred. An empathetic, nurturing approach is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs, ideally in an SEN environment.
• Experience supporting pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the school in small groups and 1:1.
• Adapt to varying behaviours and needs of pupils with SEN.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement individual plans.
