Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant for an SEN School in the New Forest area between Brockenhurst and Lymington. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm role starting ASAP, working 8.30am-4.30pm Monday-Thursday and 8.30am-4pm on Friday. 39 weeks of term time, paying £14.24 per hour.

You will support pupils aged 7-19 with autism spectrum needs in small groups and 1:1 settings, requiring empathy, adaptability and good behaviour management. Training provided.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above required.
• Experience with SEN preferred.
• Ability to support pupils 1:1 and in groups.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the school in small groups and 1:1.
• Assist with behavioural management and de-escalation.
• Implement activities and support learning objectives set by teachers.
• Collaborate with the SEN team and teaching staff to monitor pupil progress.
