Job summary

Relph Funeral Directors, Cleveland, is seeking a Funeral Service Specialist (Level One) to be the first point of contact for families, providing reassurance and meticulous, compassionate service.

This part‑time, permanent role covers Monday to Friday with varied shifts. Based at the Cleveland branch, you will support families, manage branch operations, and develop expertise in funeral planning and ceremonial duties within the Dignity Group.

Qualifications

• Compassion, calmness, and empathy in emotionally sensitive situations.
• Experience in customer service, care, or admin (training provided).
• Communication, organisation and administrative skills; comfortable with legal paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Support families with empathy and professionalism.
• Arrange funerals meeting family wishes and legal requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations and administration.
• Liaise with ministers, celebrants, and florists.
• Lead chapel visits and assist with ceremonial duties.
• Promote funeral plans and contribute to branch sales.
• Represent the branch in the local community and in outreach.
