Job summary

Blackpool Coastal Housing Ltd seeks an Emergency Housing Officer to support the daily operations of hostels and dispersed accommodation for homeless clients in Blackpool. You will manage tenancy-related tasks, conduct needs and risk assessments, and coordinate with partner agencies to access essential services.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Requires 3 GCSEs (Maths & English at 4/C or above) and customer rights understanding.
• CIH qualification desirable or willingness to work towards one.
• Experience supporting vulnerable clients and working to professional boundaries is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day tenancy management in BCH hostels and dispersed accommodation.
• Provide housing-related support to homeless clients with diverse needs.
• Conduct needs and risk assessments and safety checks.
• Liaise with partner agencies to access services for clients.
• Maintain documentation, data entry and IT system usage (MS Office).
