Job summary

WFS Patron is seeking a Firefighter (Control) to handle emergency calls, coordinate with police, ambulance and authorities, and guide callers in demanding situations. The role requires rapid resource mobilization and teamwork to support incident response.

Ideal candidates will be proficient with Microsoft Office, possess GCSEs or equivalent, and be able to work shifts. A commitment to the development programme and maintaining professionalism is essential.

Qualifications

• Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office and other software.
• Have 4 GCSE passes – Grade A*-C / 9-4, or equivalent Level 2 qualification.
• Be a minimum of 17.5 years old at application; must be 18 at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Take emergency calls from the public.
• Liaise with partner agencies, including police, ambulance and local authorities.
• Provide guidance and support to callers, including distressing situations.
• Mobilise resources as required.
• Work as part of a team to support operational colleagues at incidents.
