Job summary

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Firefighter (Control) based at Worton Road, SN10 5PP. The role involves taking emergency calls from the public, coordinating with police, ambulance and local authorities, and guiding callers through distressing situations while mobilising resources as needed.

You will work on-site as part of a team supporting operational crews at incidents, contributing to a trusted, Disability Confident employer program.

Qualifications

• Take emergency calls from the public.
• Liaise with partner agencies, including police, ambulance and local authorities.
• Provide guidance and support to the caller, which in some cases may be distressing.
• Mobilise resources as required.
• Work as part of a team to provide support to operational colleagues at incidents.
